Mobile lifting system in order picking trucks
The identifying feature of trucks dedicated to the order picking process is the mobile lifting system. This means that in addition to the forks, the entire platform (or cabin – depending on the truck’s equipment) is also lifted along with the operator positioned on it. This enables manual placement of goods on higher warehouse shelves.
The offer of this type of vehicles is very wide and takes into account requirements regarding the lifting capacity used, height and picking methods, or the width of working aisles. The possibility of equipping with additional attachments will satisfy the needs of every industry. Modern solutions aim to guarantee safety for the operator, as well as comfort in moving and picking goods in narrow and tight aisles of warehouse facilities. Order picking trucks are used for horizontal and vertical order picking, and their lifting height reaches up to 12 meters.
Order picking trucks from floor level
The simplest trucks in this category perform order picking from floor level. It takes place at the lowest storage level, from which individual units that are components of orders are extracted. Some models are equipped with an additional platform that enables them to access higher-positioned shelves. In the basic version, such trucks can transport one, maximum two pallets, but equipped with longer forks, they can handle non-standard loads and already two or even three pallets simultaneously.
Order picking from low, medium and high level
The remaining order picking trucks can be divided into three categories taking into account their maximum lifting heights: low-level reach lifting heights up to 1.5 meters, medium-level – up to 4-5 meters, and high-level – up to 12 meters. In the latter two, the cabin with the operator moves up and down along the mast. High-level order picking trucks, due to their highest degree of advancement and multitude of operator cabin construction solutions, require additional safety measures.
