Most Important Structural Elements
The forklift is mounted on a solid steel frame. Attached to it is a drive system equipped with three or four wheels. Depending on the model, the forklift can be powered by a combustion engine or an electric one. Each vehicle is equipped with a so-called counterweight. This is additional weight placed in the rear section, enabling balance to be maintained during transport of heavy loads. In the front part of the forklift there is a mast, and just behind it the operator’s cabin.

Hydraulic System Responsible for Lifting Loads
Transporting heavy loads is made possible by the use of a hydraulic system. Most commonly, two forklift mechanisms responsible for lifting the forks are used. The first is a mechanism with increased free stroke of the forks, the second is a multi-stage mechanism. In forklifts, direct or indirect control systems for the hydraulic system are used. The entire system consists of many cooperating elements that enable lifting and lowering of the forks, as well as transporting heavy loads.
