However, the answer to the question “How much does a forklift cost?” is not simple at all.

What affects the price of a forklift?

Forklift prices, just like car prices, are very different. The amount you have to pay for a forklift is influenced by, among others:

– forklift manufacturer,
– type of forklift,
– condition of the forklift (new or used?),
– forklift model,
– mast type,
– forklift capacity,
– year of manufacture,
– additional equipment.

Forklift manufacturers

Just like with cars, forklifts are produced by many companies, the most popular ones are: Toyota, Linde, Nissan (now Unicarriers) and Jungheinrich When buying or renting a forklift from any of the mentioned companies, we can be sure that we are acquiring a product that enjoys a very good reputation among customers. Of course, we will find many other manufacturers on the market, including those from the Middle Kingdom, but by choosing a forklift from one of the above-mentioned companies, we gain the certainty of long equipment operation. Chinese brand forklifts have a very short lifespan, which is about 5 years.

Types of forklifts

In addition to the brand, the type of forklift has a big impact on the price. A counterbalance forklift will be priced differently than a side-loading forklift. The type of forklift drive also plays a very important role. Combustion forklifts are usually cheaper than electric forklifts. High-storage forklifts are a completely different price category.

Condition of the forklift, i.e. new forklift or used?

When deciding to buy a forklift, we don’t have to buy new equipment. We can decide to buy a used forklift, which will be a significantly cheaper solution than new equipment. The price of a used forklift depends not only on the manufacturer and type of forklift, but also on its condition and operating hours.

Forklift model

Before buying a forklift, in addition to the manufacturer, it’s worth paying attention to the model of the chosen forklift. Manufacturers produce a specific forklift in several versions, differing, for example, in: capacity, which will ultimately affect its price.

Purchase price of new and used forklifts

A used electric counterbalance forklift in good condition from 2011 can be bought for about 30,000 PLN net. Such a forklift should be sufficient for most basic warehouse work. A similar forklift from the same manufacturer (Toyota), but with greater capacity and two years newer costs about 50,000 PLN net.

Each manufacturer’s offer also includes forklifts from the current year. A forklift with a capacity of 3500 kg, in the case of a Toyota model, costs 153,000 PLN net.

Forklift rental

In addition to buying a forklift, you can rent it for a short or long period. The advantage of rental is its simplicity. When renting a forklift, we as customers are not interested in servicing or repairing the forklift. All this is included in the rental agreement, thanks to which the operating costs of the forklift can be easily determined. Forklift rental is also a good way to test the equipment before purchasing it.
